Hey all,
We see some of you have already spotted this but we wanted to confirm that the TU Go app & service will be ending on 30th November. We’ll be notifying all customers that have the TU Go app about this from today, Tuesday 17th October, through to Friday 20th October.
While TU Go is ending, we’re continuing to offer alternative calling options for our customers. More information can be found here. As VoWifi (Voice over Wifi, part of our Wifi and 4G calling capabilities) continues to develop, we’re working with our vendors to expand the selection of handsets that we offer with Wifi and 4G calling capabilities. A full list of currently supported devices can be found here, where we will also add future devices when they’re available.
If the device you’re currently using doesn’t support Wifi and 4G calling, you can check the My O2 app or get in touch with our customer service team (202 from an O2 Pay Monthly mobile, 8002 from O2 Business mobile) to see what upgrade options are available to you.
We recommend that all TU Go users make copies of any stored messages or images that they have saved on the TU Go app, as the app won’t be accessible from 1 December.
A thank you
We know that some of our O2 Community members helped test the TU Go app during beta trials and provided varied and fantastic feedback which helped our team shape the app, add new features and fix any bugs. We hope you’ve enjoyed using TU Go, and again want to thank anyone from the O2 Community that helped us.
More information on the closure of TU Go can be found here: https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/tu-go

I think 3 is the only option for those who need an app on their phone to run wifi calling isn't it?
I'm trialling it now with a view to switching (just bought a payg sim) and it also allows calling over 4g which Tugo didn't.

I reinforce the question about loss of functionality of SMS messaging within WiFi calling, which was previously available in TuGo. I spoke to three members of Customer Services team today, and none seemed to be aware of the loss of messaging, and on enquiry said that they believed it was being looked into. No indication of timing. Why was TuGo turned off today if this feature is outstanding?

Open letter to O2 Telefonica uk
Following the closure of the Tu Service I feel it pertinent to ask the following few questions.
1 O2 must provide to 98% of the indoor population a service that by 2g 3g or 4g to 2Mpbs. This is a direct result of the 4G auction the date this obligation has to be meet is 31 December 2017 so 1 month away are you going to meet this requirement?
2 As users relied on tu for calls and sms when will O2 be implementing the full IMS service over wifi ? as at present it is only for calls!
3 For the 2% population that will not get coverage will o2 offer the Boostbox service to non-business customers as at present no sms over Wifi so unable to use the o2 network for sms .?

Does the 3 app not allow 3G users to be shifted onto the higher bandwidth 4G, a valuable thing for three surely?

My s4 mini does not allow 4g calling without the 3 app. It only uses 4g for data otherwise, any calls are shifted to 3g.

With the three app even my non-VoLTE can now make 4g calls. I think 3 refer to it as Super Voice. Neat trick anyway.
