Hi.
I am looking at the oneplus 8 pro and theres a lot of conjecture about O2 supporting it.
Can you clarify the 5G position with this device both now ang going forward please.
Thanks.

No word from O2 as to supporting 5g on it yet.
Maybe @Chris_K can confirm?

We are aware of that.
The question is will O2 be supporting the device for 5g connection as it won't work unless signed off by O2.

Yes o2 can support this device as it uses the same bands as o2
The device doesnt need to be signed off by o2 or have o2 firmware as that negates the provision of 5G sim only contracts.
If you have a contract with o2 then you will need to ask for a 5G sim card and they can move you over to a 5G tariff.
If you are not on o2 then just get a 5G sim only deal.
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company

Not currently true.
There are users on OP forum with a 5g O2 sim that doesn't work yet.

Hi All, After speaking to one of the Senior technical team they have confirmed that Oneplus did their own testing of 5g on the o2 network and Oneplus decided to not support it for now. So for now there will be no 5G support for the Oneplus devices. There are no plans to range or test at the moment which is understandable under the current climate.
