I have a Oneplus phone and have enabled wifi calling, but it does not work.

If I swap in my wife's EE sim, Wifi calling works. The problem is with O2 but why? I have spent fruitless hours on the phone (mainly on hold) with EE and the understaffed team in India with no success (it is hard to imagine how O2 service could be much worse).

On the last occasion, I was told that the problem is my internet connection is with BT, and the O2 wireless calling is incompatible with the BT network. Is this true, or was I just being fobbed off with nonsense? If it is true, then this is a major flaw with the service. O2 wifeless networking will not work with the UK's main internet supplier?

It's nonsense @Shame

The steps to get WiFi calling working are:

- o2 customer services enable it on your account

- you turn it on in your My o2

- you turn it on in your phone's settings

WiFi calling is only available to pay monthly customers (either SIM only or device and SIM).

Give O2 a call on 202 or 0344 809 0202 (Contract)

Or you can message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG), hopefully they should be able to help.

@Shame

I laugh at the though of BT been the countries main ISP sorry but they arent...

Have you called o2 to enable WiFI Calling? It could also be OnePlus who had a falling out with o2 (and lots of other networks) so you could try reaching out to OnePlus and asking them, and see if it is actually supported..

I would aslo get o2 to remove it and add it back it in..

if you send them a message on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG), or you can call 202 from your o2 phone
Thanks

"Have you called o2 to enable WiFI Calling?"   - Yes - they tell me it has been enabled, I've contacted O2 3 times (so that's hours on hold.) The last time I contacted them, I'm told its O2 wifi doesn't support a BT internet connection

"It could also be OnePlus who had a falling out with o2"  The phone is setup to allow wifi calling and it does work with an EE simcard according to the O2 documentation the phone is supported

"I laugh at the though of BT been the countries main ISP sorry but they arent..." according to statistica for the most recent data I can get they are with a 28% market share. In my area, rural with no mobile coverage (hence the need for wifi calling) they are the onlt internet provider.

I suppose the question is is it true that wifi calling cannot be made to work without either buying  a new phone or changing my inernet provider if that is the case I guess O2 is not a company I can use - its a deal breaker.

Have you tried using the social media links I posted earlier @Shame ?

We used to have some o2 customer advisors on the forum but they have been removed for now, so we can't do anything except asks questions and suggest options...
