I’m an existing 02 pay monthly customer and have been out of contract for a while. Have recently upgraded to a new phone and pay monthly deal. I’ve been sent a new sIM but not sure what I need to do to retain my existing 02 number?

I presume once I put new sim in phone, my new contract /payment plan starts? What do I need to do to ensure I keep all my existing photos/contacts ?

I know it’s probably a basic question but I’ve never had to do this before

@KirstieJR

To use the new sim it has to be activated by doing a sim swap Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update

or you can just use your old sim as the new contract will be updated on it.

As far as your data is concerned, it depends on which type of phones you have.

@KirstieJR Your contacts are on your phone's app, not the sim card.

Your photos are stored as per the kind of phone you have:

Organize and find your photos on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Manage your storage - Android - Google Photos Help
