Hi
i have just upgraded from an o2 iPad to phone contract porting my number from EE. I hated the phone so have put the sim into my daughters unlocked iPhone and let her have the new iPhone . Now I can’t send and receive sms . The phone was set up as a new phone and have tried logging in and out of Apple ID, tried turning off rsc and iMessages made no difference so turned back on, I have tried resetting network settings still nothing. I can’t log into my banking apps and others as I can’t receive the verification codes.i can receive iPhone to iPhone , can make calls use internet etc. customer support said hardware issue but does the same on 3 different iPhones , I took the phone to store they were stumped and have just ordered anew sim? The sim was previously used only in iPads , any help appreciated as really getting frustrating.

If the new sim doesn't fix the issue, there's a few things to check.
Settings >Apps >Phone >My number and check it's correct.
Check with O2 that iData has been added to your account (may not relate to issue but needs adding anyway).
Ask for escalation to porting team to check all files were correctly processed during the port in process.

Thanks for the tips, number is correct so will give customer service another go with the other options.
