Occasionally my text messages are being converted into MMS when I send them, for which I then get charged. I’ve looked into this and I think this happens when the SMS ones are too long. How do I know what the limit is for sending SMS messages before they are converted to MMS? Is this specific to each phone or to the provider I am with? My phone (Samsung S6) does not tell me when this limit is reached.

If you want insurance you would be better off shopping around online. O2 insurance has to be applied by O2 and getting through to them will be nigh impossible.

its normally 160 characters and if your sms all of a suddend shows kb instead of a message count, thats normally a good indicator it has now changed to mms, this does vary from phone to phone though, some will flash up and say your message has now converted to mms
