SMS Charge to output of marketing

It’s cost me 30p to optout of Wickes marketing by texting stop to 88882. Why do I need to pay to opt out of a company’s marketing?

That's a question to Wickes as to why they are using a Premium Rated SMS Code to opt out, and not all opt out texts are free.
