as per subject line really. partner swapped the sim from their old phone to their new phone (same brand of Android phone) which had no issues with rcs messages, but in the new phone its trying to verify the number constantly.
if i go into their google account, the number is correct and verified. tried going through the google help pages and to google tech support and they say it looks like a carrier issue.
anyone know how to fix the problem, or have a contact that can fix the problem, as they use some of the features quite a lot.
Thanks in advance

I've got the same problem with my Pixel 7 pro. Have tried all steps mentioned here https://www.howtogeek.com/746068/how-to-fix-google-chat-rcs-messaging-problems-on-android/ but no luck.
Please let us know how, if you eventually resolve this! Thanks!!

so, i was out today and took the phone into the O2 shop and.....they hadnt a CLUE, apart from one staff member telling me how RCS is a buggy system and how Android is nothing to do with Google, its a seperate company (which was news to me as i always was under the impression it was Google's answer to Apples IOS system).
so my search goes on

The standard in the shops seems to be moving towards that of customer services.
Seeing RCS is used by tens of millions of
people around the world I would
hardly call it 'buggy"

My personal experience @Enlli is that the O2 retail stores are very "hit and miss". Some seem to be more focused on customer service than others, and within an individual store, there is often a wide variance in the knowledge and enthusiasm of individual staff members. 👍

i have to agree to an extent. O2 as a company seem to have gone right down the tubes since joining up with virgin media (or whoever it is they joined up with) i never had issues before that.

Yes @turbopete, O2's customer service can leave a lot to be desired if you have a problem. But that is the case across all of the UK mobile network operators - mediocre across the board ! 👍

very true, sadly. such a shame as O2 customer services were always brilliant, in my experience, prior to the merger
