Phone doesn't work on one specific number?

Hi all,

For some time now my phone (OnePlus 6T) has stopped working properly when I call my parents' landline. It briefly rings, then just cuts off. No-one else has this problem (other mobiles can ring that number without issue, including on O2), and the landline rings out to other phones without any problem.

Can anyone suggest something? I can still contact them via their mobiles, but I'd like this to work.

Andrew

@MoonSpook

We're just customers like you but it sounds as if you need someone to access your account which can't be done from the forum.

You need  to contact O2.

If you message O2 on Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help. Or call them on 202 or 0344 809 0202 (contract)

4445 or 0344 809 0222 (PAYG)

@MoonSpook

Get your parents to check if they can and if they have blocked your number.

It's usually the only reason why one specific number won't work.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

They're quite elderly and I'm not sure they'd even know how to block a phone number, especially on a landline.. but I guess it's worth checking, thanks. I'll contact O2 as well.

My elderly parents landline with BT has call screening and call blocking options @MoonSpook

Might be worth checking with their landline provider too.

Try calling your parents with your number withheld, see if that makes any difference. Any CLI-based issue can then be ruled out or in.

It is actually quite easy @MoonSpook to block a number by accident ; particularly if your parents do not really know what they are doing. 👍
