I have been trying to Port my number to my new O2 contract for over a week. Every time i call o2, they say 'there was a problem, it will happen tomorrow'. Then it doesnt happen. Today I escalated and was told 'oh actually there was a problem on the vodafone side, they didnt release the number'. So i called vodafone... and guess what, they said they released the number and there's nothing they can do, speak to o2. Now im properly stuck between customer supports, both sides blaming each other. This is causing my serious mental anguish as i cannot access online banking or use 2FA. Please can someone help me.

Sorry to hear of your struggles @Rich15
Did you get a text message to the number you want to keep telling you when the port should happen?
If not, there might have been a problem completing the move and you could try giving the PAC again.
Everything we know about porting is in the guide Guide: Migration & porting into O2
From here all we can do is suggest you speak to customer services as we are also customers.
Try using social media - all links are in the guide below
Guide: How to find help & contact O2
Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).

It is actually the responsibility of O2 to sort this out irrespective of whether there is an issue on the Vodafone side of things
You have given your PAC to O2 so it should be up to O2 to get the number ported not yourself to be chasing between the two of them

O2 are now saying there was a problem, and i need to get vodafone to reconnect the line. I called vodafone to create a new temporary PAYG account, but they cannot use the number or even the PAC code they gave me because they say the port was complete and the number belongs to o2 now... Please can someone from o2 help.
