I was on a Virgin pay monthly contract and changed my package deal and was moved to o2 which I did not really want but asked to move my old number, o2 have taken the mick even after 10days I am still waiting. If this is not sorted soon I will cancel under the 14 days. O2 have always been poor and I can’t understand why Virgin hooked up with them.

Did Virgin say they had generated a PAC code to move your number? Quite frankly I wouldn't trust them if they said they did.
If they haven't you need a PAC off Virgin to give to O2 then follow this guide.
