Hi

I recently contacted O2 support to check that my account is still safe following an attempt to steal my account. Is it normal for 02 support personnel to ask for the answer to my security question. He said he could see the answer already and I had to say it to verify who I was. I refused, as I seem to remember not to divulge this answer to anyone - including 02 staff. Am I wrong?

Yes, the call centre staff can see your answer, as it is a security question, a lot of companies ask for a security answer..

It is the OTP you do not give to anyone who calls you out of the blue or to anyone, but you are calling o2, they can see all your data, when  you give them your phone number...

- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

As long as you are certain you called O2 is safe to do so.

You can also change it in your MyO2 at anytime to stay perfectly safe.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
