Notifications

Hi.  Setting up a new Motorola G8 phone.  My notifications for watsapp, messenger and insta will not come through unless the app is open.  They are all set to send notifications, Ive check under battery and data they they can work in the background.  Tried reinstalling which made no difference. When trying to customise a notification tone for people is gives me en error message of android.process.media keeps stopping.  I dont know if this is part of the issue or different.  TIA 🙂

First off i would check for any and all application and System updates and install these first

You can also Go into Apps and Notification under settings and you can set notifications to be on or off under their.

Thank you. All notifications are set to on and all apps inc Android say they are current version
