Hello,

I currently have an exceptional mobile plan of £15 per month for unlimited data, texts, and minutes. My current phone contract ends next month and will be fully paid off. However in order for me to upgrade my phone with o2, I need to change this tariff and the equivalent is £35 (on top of the phone payment). So the cheaper option for me would be to buy a new iPhone directly from apple and take the sim out of my current phone and put it in the new one. Would there be any issue with that? I.e. would that allow me to upgrade my phone without having to change mobile plan?

You won't be able to upgrade your phone without changing your airtime plan.

But sourcing a phone elsewhere and continuing your airtime is perfectly feasible

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

You can do that. If you are happy with your airtime plan, just carry on with it. O2 have no interest in the device you are using.
