Making calls on an ipad

My partner has bought an iPad with a monthly pay sim we've put the sim in the iPad and tried to make calls but it just cuts u off when it starts ringing we don't know what to do to be able to make calls on his iPad..

As far as I am aware iPads are unable to make phone calls

Maybe you can find another app to allow phone calls

The sim you have is data only, regardless of what device it is in.

As suggested above, your only option for calls is to use a VOIP app, such as WhatsApp which will also require the person you are calling to have the same app installed.

The iPad will only make calls when linked to an iPhone on the same WiFi network 

Basically it's an extension of the phone and will use the phone's SIM

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
