@J0878

You need a new eSim pack for a new phone.

 If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this or pop into your local O2 store.

Hi MI5,

O2 eSIM is a nightmare. Today I wanted to swap my eSIM from the old to the new phone. Went online, get the 6 digit code, and waited for 30 minutes, nothing happened. Restart the phone, nothing, both phones without service. I decided to remove the plan and re-add it - that's impossible (This code is no longer valid. Contact your network provider for more information). Took my ID and went to the store. Explained what happened and they couldn't help me because I have to wait at least 24 hours to swap the SIM in the O2 store if made a request already, so I ended up without service on both devices.

BTW - CS wasn't even aware that stores cannot swap SIM if a request was made in the last 24 hours.

I think O2 should add more ways to verify the identity if "No Service" - like security questions, the last number dialed, last bill amount. I do have a password on account as well but that doesn't help.

Does anyone have any idea how to swap a SIM without service without waiting 24 hours or 3 days for CS to post a new SIM?

I think the shop has lied to you, as long as you have ID, then they can give you a esim pack, and then you just need to call CS activate it.

Done this in the past with test devices, and never had a problem.
