Hi,

I recently joined you O2.
My intention was to bring two numbers to the same account on Sim Only.
Less than an hour after passing a Credit Check for my first number I failed one for my next attempt on another number
I emailed the people at Credit Referrals about a week ago and have heard nothing. Apparently it is impossible to speak to them directly.
O2 operators are very helpful but are unable to help.
I am 70 years old, own my own home, solvent and don't have any loans.
I was so concerned that I checked my credit score. It's 725 which apparently is OK.
I don't really know what I can do now, if anything.
Can you folks help?

Sorry, nothing we can do from here.

You need to wait for CFR to get back to you but if you leave it a month to apply again you will probably be accepted as the refusal will be due to to two checks in quick succession.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I was hoping to grab a 'Black Friday' deal but I guess not now.

Regards.

There's always a new offer.

Black Friday ain't all that it's cracked up to be.

@erewego did you get this solved? I'm in the same position and am wondering if you ever got a reply or if it worked after waiting a while?

@benlye

o2 will never tell you why a credit application has been declined, but it could the 2 HARD credit checks in a small amount of time.

You may have to wait 30 days

I know what the standard line is, and I understand why O2 do it but I'm hoping someone who has been through this can update with their outcome and how long it took.

People who have posted about this problem seem to go quiet which makes me think they they eventually do get a response.

I'm just hoping that there are rational human beings somewhere who can be convinced that we're not trying to commit fraud, just trying to set up multiple contracts for family members.

Hi Rusty.

I have been told to wait 30 days before trying again.

I am going in store rather than online to apply again next Tuesday.

I will let you know how it goes.

If I'm refused again there is a Vodafone store opposite the O2 store.

Enough is enough.

I get the impression that 'front line' staff aren't big fans of the Credit people.

Hi again.

Tried again after 32 days. Rejected again.

Went to Lycamobile. No problems at all, same network, much cheaper.

Enough is enough.
