Hi gurus

My iPhone 8 screen cracked a few weeks ago and at the same time the battery life has dropped a lot. My contract expires on May 10 and I want to save some money too. I'm currently paying £40/month but see a contract for £23/month with the amount of data that I need. No mention of handsets on there, though.

With all the shops shut and the helpline for emergencies only, I'm not sure what to do.

Was even considering a secondhand iPhone8 and port my number over.

Thanks for any advice! MG

@MG22 Take a look to see what your upgrade options are on your MyO2 page: http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2

Hi @Bambino thanks slight_smile

I did look on this page and found the option that I think I want at £23/month, but it does not address the issue of what to do with my current handset.

If I get a new contract, can I swap that to a new handset?

@MG22 If what you're looking at is sim only, then no. You'd have to upgrade your handset and tariff on a Refresh or standard contract.

Thanks @Bambino

So how do I tell O2 that I want to either:

* change to a new tarrif with a new handset that they provide

* change to a SIM-only tarrif with a second hand handset that I'll get myself

Thanks @Cleoriff slight_smile

How do I know that the tarrif I choose will be okay with a different handset?

@MG22

Just make sure the handset you get is unlocked to any network.
