I'm afraid we are all customers here and not party to O2's plans.

The don't normally announce future plans too far in advance, so ringing customer services will almost certainly be a fruitless exercise.

Vast swathes of Cheshire are no go for O2 5G 

Nantwich, Northwich, Congleton etc . Nowt!

It always appears to me - and this is based on my random travels and not a proper survey - that O2 are far stronger to the East of the Pennines whereas the reverse is the case for Vodaphone.

@Oxonian Yes, it's down to how Conerstone was set up between O2 and Vodafone. Generally Vodafone is stronger in the west.

 Now Cornerstone is being sold off!

It is and its been a complete mess from the start.. 

Noticed using NetMonster, a number of 5G NSA cells popping up near me up here in Yorkshire, but not strong enough to be connected to it.

So it is been rolled out, just slowly...

@Knutsford Try looking on your councils planning portal, and see if any planning applications have been made by Telefonica, or VMo2 recently
