upgrade charges?

Anonymous
Not applicable

my contract runs out on the 23rd oct 2014 but i could ring up from the 23rd september 2014 for a free upgrade. i rang and set this all up yesterday and it was explained my first bill was going to be a lot higher. ive gone online and looked at recent charges and it says ive got a £125.00 upgrade bill credit on my next bill - what is this? surely i shouldnt be getting charged for anything and it should just run straight from one contract into the other? please help.

If it's a bill credit it means O2 have given you £125.00

Hi Stephi_baker, we can surely try to help but I think we may need a bit more inf. U say u have a 125.00 upgrade bill credit, well a credit wouldnt be a contract cancelation fee so it sounds like something else.

What is the description next to the amount and does it show as -£125.00?

it says this:

previous bill date: 23 sept 14

next bill date: 23 oct 14

what ive used: 4.28

other charges and credits: -£125.00

recent charges to date: -£120.72

when i clicked on the other charges and credit it just says: upgrade bill credit -£125.00

im really thick about things like this but now im concerned all this money will be going out of my account on my next bill - as i say the lady explained my first bill with my new phone would seem steep but i wasnt expecting this. (the tariff ive gone for is £18.00 per month) hope this helps?

It sounds like a retention credit, it may be for resigning with o2 or the handset that u wanted would have been chargeable and was credited back. Anyway happy days!!It's a credit !Cheers
