How do you mean that the contract expired?

If you have come to the end of your minimum period the phone is yours to keep unless it's a lease phone.

It's yours to keep as jonsie says.

If it's locked to O2 and you want to use it on another network etc then unlock it free here https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%...

If Your unsure then ring 202 from your phone.

Edit to add Cs number.

Hi and welcome to the community.

You don't normally have to return your phone at the end of a contract.

When you say your contract has expired do you mean you have to come to the end of your 12, 18 or 24 month contract? If so the phone is yours to keep. slight_smile

If your contract has been terminated because of issus such as non-payment, etc then I'm not sure what the procedure is for returning the handset which, I believe, may still be the property of O2 :S

Who told you that you had to return your phone?

I believe you can return it via the O2 store. Did you not get a returns bag when you leased the phone?

Please, please take photos of the phones condition when you return it. There are some terrible experiences on here where O2 state the phone is scratched or damaged.
