o2 Travel Inclusive Zone - USA

Hi everyone,

Just checking this as I'm still not 100% sure.

I'm travelling to the US next week and it clearly states in my contract that I have the o2 Travel Inclusive Zone as a bolt on. I'm not on o2 Refresh but have 30GB data, which I'm guessing is why I have the bolt on. My wife's contract is the same and she has the bolt on too.

Can I check:

a) Does it sound correct that we should have the bolt on, given the tariff?

b) Do I need to do anything when I get to the US, in terms of activating anything or turning data roaming on?

c) Are there still problems with this working correctly in the US?

Many thanks,

Richard

@Richard7

Make sure your phone is unlocked Guide: Unlocking an O2 phone to use a different SIM card

Activate and top up the Three sim before you go and divert your o2 number to the Three number.

Hi @Richard7

Yes, it is tariff dependant so it is correct that you have it.

You don't need to do anything except turning on data roaming, but be aware that data is throttled to 0.5mbps so don't expect any high speed surfing

Use Wifi for that.

Great thank you.

Quick speeds then

Have they sorted out the issues about it not working properly, i.e. charging people when it shouldn't have?

Many thanks

Do not expect good speeds @Richard7, data is throttled and virtually useless on O2. Wifi or local sim is the only way to get any use out of your phone.

Many thanks @jonsie much appreciated.

How does it work putting a different network sim in your phone? Sorry if this is obvious.

Three or a local sim don't throttle data, it's only O2 as many customers on here will confirm.

Not heard any complaints recently about this so assume it's all sorted.
