Hallo

I am in the process of changing from Talktalk to O2 and I just found out that my phone is locked to  talktalk (it asks me for a SIM Network Unlock pin which I am waiting to get).

When I go into my O2 account it says I have used data from my new SIM: data 498.16 of 500MB.

How is it possible when my SIM was locked?  Thanks for your reply.

Your data is already on mate and data is used whilst the phone boots up.
TT will send you an unlock code which you need to enter carefully to unlock the phone.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:

Data will connect regardless..
You can even use data on an IMEI barred phone.

Thanks MI5,

how could I have used data when data is not active on my phone.

There is no way of turning data on when I switch my phone on, and when I enter my lockscreen PIN I get a screen saying "SIM Network Unlock PIN".

I assume I will be given this pin when TalkTalk contact me, supposidly withing 48 hours.
