Good morning fellow o2-ers,

Just a note that I received a call this morning from a landline number offering 40% off my remaining bill. They said they were from head office and I was selected as a long standing customer with an up to date and paid bill. They seemed to know my bill history and basic details etc.. They insisted on sending me the code to be verified over the phone in order to activate the account (I guess to disguise as a text they are sending from O2 (probably forgotten password or something); after-which they would email me to confirm the 'promotion'.

I'm not sure how this would allow them to access my account and proceed with nefarious activities without email access, perhaps there's a bigger picture that I'm not seeing yet.

Anyway, beware & be safe!

Regards,

B
