Resolved! Cancelling airtime and keeping device

I have just ordered an iPad Pro 12.9 on contract but it comes with 1GB airtime for £13 which I think is ridiculous so I was wondering if I could keep paying the iPad off and cancel the airtime as it is useless to me anyway
