Hello, I had recently initiated an account with O2 paying monthly but I would like to keep my previous phone number. It seems like it is not transferred yet and I cannot accept calls

I can’t make or receive phone calls or text messages I cannot get hold of O2 because they Keep trying to send me a code via text which I can’t access customer text is not working. Please will you help me solve this problem as I need my phone for work
