every hour eg 5 oclock 6 oclock etc i get annoying sound like a double cuckoo call how can i get rid of it

Something must be showing in notification bar when it chimes?
Is it an hourly chime you've set in the clock app?

Shoot it.
Turn phone off.
Put it on silent.
But, if you give us a bit more info like what phone and which app is making the notification I'll try for a better answer.

I had the same problem with a weather app. In the settings there was an option to sound every hour and the box was ticked. It took some finding

Has this just started happening? Have you downloaded any apps that coincides with when this started to be a problem?

It's in the Profiles settings....hourly chime.
