I'm interested in upgrading to a LG Nexus 5. My upgrade date is 29th November. Using O2 refresh looks a very expensive option, regardless of tarriff. I chatted with online help and they suggested that I buy the handset directly from Google and switch to a sim only contract. At £300 for the phone thats still quite expensive.
Carphone Warehoise are offering the 16GB Nexus 5 on a comparable O2 tarrif to mine for free at £27 a month (which is £10 lower than my current tarrif).
I don't see why they're able to do this and make their cut if O2 can't do it directly.
Do O2 consider matching or beating deals from companies like Carphone Warehouse / Phones4U - or am I best off going to one of those?

It's how business franchising works, if you like the deal go for it.

Just search these forums the 3rd party can offer better deals and o2 will not usually match them
O2 still gets your money if you get an o2 contract via cpw etc.
Just go with the best deal for you (but watch out for extra sales pitches like insurance etc)

They may consider it but that is probably all they will do.

I was offered a Samsung Galaxy S3 on o2 refresh for £27 a month at the o2 store, they dropped this to £22 a month because of my student discount. I didn't take it as all I went in there for is a sim change because I dont get a mobile signal inside (anywhere). Found out that Carphone Warehouse was doing the same phone on the same tariff for £21 with no student discount... so it is often cheaper from Carphone Warehouse

That's what was being discussed thread but there are a few O2 freebies you miss out on.
