Hi

ive just upgraded 2 phones on a £42 contract. I’ve been billed £54. VAT! For retail consumers should this not be included in the advertised price?

any one have this experience before?

Vat is included on a consumer contract. If this is your first bill it will be slightly higher as explained here :

As far as I am am aware only Vat is shown exclusive if you are on a business contract. All others are Vat inclusive. You should call customer services https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

VAT will always be shown as it's a legal requirement. Next month your bill will be the agreed amount unless you have any charges not covered by your allowances
