I upgrade my phone next month and I was just wondering how keeping my number works? I am currently with o2 and when I upgrade does the tarrif I choose automatically go onto my sim card I have now or will I get a sim card with a new number and have to go through the keeping my number process I used when I first joined o2?

If you do a straight forward upgrade you will automatically keep your number.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Depending on the new phone you may need a micro / nano sim but you just use the swap my sim process to sort that out same number new tariff etc.

You will receive a new sim card no matter what size.

I went into my local o2 shop to upgrade yesterday. Both my old phone and my new phone have micro-sims and my new phone was given a new sim.

The guy in the shop pressed a few buttons, my signal went on my old phone, and appeared on my new phone. Sorted!
