Trying to recontract :(

Anonymous
Not applicable
I have 2 O2 refresh contracts and one is at renewal stage. I want the 128Gb iPhone 6s and retentions via live chat offered to waive upfront £70 cost but wouldn't budge on line rental. I explained I would be happy to recontract there and then at no upfront cost and £46 p/m but they said I couldn't have two discounts. The advisor said to try the open code 30% discount but that it wouldn't be eligible as when they checked for eligibility they would see I already had a loyalty discount applied by retentions. Has anyone heard such rubbish? I spend around £100 per month and they seem to want to make me cancel.

So, to answer the questions I can...
On one phone I have Friends and Family discount and an "adjustment" which gives me a free data bolt on.
On another phone the upgrade fee was waived and I have open discount on that account too.
Hope that answers the initial questions asked ?

Regardless, the important bit is if the 6s is now included in Open....?
If so, you should be OK to have the upfront waived and still add Open within the first 28 days.

So after a 25 minute wait for retentions there is no embargo on the 6s for the open code but the advisor seemed to think it's only been changed 2 days ago.
She was very snippy and kept talking over me 😖 and just said they can't guarantee I will get the 30% open code discount but I'm welcome to try after I upgrade with the fee waived and if the code can't be applied then I have 14 days cooling off to return the phone. She was so annoying that I said I would think about it...didn't want her getting the commission lol.
