The credit won't appear on your phone in a physical way. It is what is known as a virtual credit added to your account and is used first before you use your existing credit.

It confuses many people but they don't just add the £3.00 extra credit to your balance.

I believe they should in order to stop the uncertainty but the system does work and recognises your bonus top up.

Ah right, thank you for the reply, i am just in an annoying position as my monthly pay as you go top up is £21.50, i topped up £30 the other day to benefit from this offer but now as of right now after midnight i need £21.50 balance in order to receive my allowances, i have £18-19 credit on my phone and find it frustrating i seem to only be able to top up £10 credit to get my allowances, very annoying as i am £3 off what i need and i only topped up by £30 a few days ago!!!!!

Whilst they don't mislead people, most customers don't understand how it works. O2 really should clarify this.

I have to admit that is a fair way of looking at it and indeed makes the most logical sense, at this point i wish o2 would allow me to top up by just £5 lol, thank you for your help much appreciated!!!

I agree.

Increments of £5 top up amounts would be helpful to a lot of people.

They used to have £5 topups until around 5 years ago. I remember the backlash from parents having to topup £10. Moore difficult to budget for kids, if the credit is on the phone they will use it....
