Hi All,

our son is 17 and now has a part-time job so we've decided he can start to pay for his own phone. Can he continue on our account or does he need to set up his own in order to pay his way?

Thanks!

Anthony

You can set it up to come out of his bank account, but he can't setup an account with o2 until he is 18 as you cant legally apply for credit until 18.

Just be aware if he fails to pay the bill, then you are still legally liable for the account, and it will be your credit file that will be affected.

When he turns 18, he would need to take out a contract in his own name and then migrate the number across to the new contract, once you had paid off any remaining minimum terms / outstanding device plans

- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK
