Hi,

We've just upgraded our daughters phone for a birthday present. Her Birthday isn't until 10th April so we planned to give it to her then. Will her current phone continue to work until we move to the new phone or is her tarrif going to swap straight away? We're moving from a Samsung to an Iphone.

Can we wait 14 days until we activate the new SIM in the new Phone, will her current SIM continue to work?

Many thanks,

Jane

An upgrade will switch the tariff automatically on the system so there's no need to swap sims.

As there is a delay in the system currently, it may take a while to switch over though.

Her current sim will still work.

Hi Jane,

Have you upgraded using the same mobile number she had before? You can keep the same sim card unless the new iPhone needs a different sized sim to the samsung!

Just keep using the original sim in the old phone, then switch it over on her birthday. Super easy!

You may have been sent a new sim with the new phone, hang onto it for now, but you shouldn't need it.
