Strange cost of Apple Watch service

Hello,

I have a pay monthly sim only deal at £8 per month.

I signed up to enable my Apple Watch, which I had read was previously advertised at £5 per month.

I am now billed an additional £9.01 for my Apple Watch. Is this right?
