just upgraded my phone but i have put a 5g sim card, how long before it moves over from  4g to 5g

Be aware that sim swaps are taking longer than normal, and some have had difficulty with the process. Your old 4G sim will work in your new phone. Unless you're desperate to have 5G right now, you might want to hold off doing the swap until things return to some kind of normality.
