You can install O2 Ask on any number of phones and all messges sent to your O2 number can be read and replied to on any phone. It doesn't actually forward them to another number but it does allow you to carry ust the one phone, with the added bonus of working over wifi.

Not without an app which needs to be on the phone you want to divert from and it needs to be on all the time.
I use an android app called sms forwarding.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

MyO2 has always been there but no one really knows the reason for O2 Ask?

I wouldn't worry about it.
