Just upgraded my phone and put the new SIM in. Keep getting the message "SIM not provisioned". How do I get this activated to use on my new phone? I read on O2's site that you're meant to send a text "SWAP", but the message won't send as the 'service is unavailable'

@Simes1966

Can you use your old sim? If it fits use that.  You could push it out to size.

If not then look here

Similar situation.

Cut a long short.. I'm a contract customer.

They sent me a new ( to retain my number I've had 20 odd years) unregistered SIM which to be fair did react to the SWAP 20220 or whatever on Friday. O2 autosystem returned a message saying all was well. Still waiting for the new SIM to activate. TBH, I'm not going far from Wifi range just now so can still use Whatsapp etc. I'll give them till tomorrow lunchtime which will be 4 days.

Sure, they may be short staffed but the activation process does not require human input...if it is actually working.

Nothing is usually done over the weekend so it's likely to be Tuesday before  this is actioned.

I put the old one in and that works. Would've preferred to use the new one - I assume something 3 or 4 years newer should last longer - but at least my phone now gets a signal. Thaks

Sims can last a long time @Simes1966  and at least it gives you a working phone immediately.

Good news in the current climate.wink

The only reason to change at the moment is if you are in a 5G area and your phone has capability.
