Hey all,

Rather than going into the O2 shop later on today, it makes far more sense for me to post where I know there are experts! Last week I was mugged and had my phone and some other stuff nicked. Luckily I'm on insurance so everything was sorted fairly quickly - the woman on the other end of the phone told me that she'd activate the new sim card and send it with the phone so that when the phone arrived it'd be ready to use immediately. However, the sim card still isn't active and it's been a fair bit longer than then 24 hours I believe I should usually be waiting. Would you recommend I ask for a replacement sim card or wait a few more days?

I'm a little worried that the stolen phone hasn't actually been blocked, or that there was an error in processing.

Cheers in advance.

O2 don't send out active sims so call customer service to activate the sim. Also ask them to make sure the lost/stolen bar has been removed.

Funny that, must have been a mix up in communications because it was late. slight_smile Thanks jonsie. I'll do that when my housemate gets home and I can use his phone.

Thanks Damien.

I've had a chat with CS now and they're activating the sim card. I need to ring up again when it's active to get the bars removed.

Sorry to hear that Michael.... 😞
The activation and account barring is a little inconvenient but at least it protects your account from unauthorised use.....
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
