SIM SWAP

I've just ordered received a new SIM card for a new pay monthly contract and I'm trying to transfer my old number to my new SIM card. I don't currently have access to my old SIM card, as my phone was stolen.

When I follow the instructions to swap the number over i.e. text SWAP to 20220, I get instructions for activating my new SIM, which is already active rather than instructions for the number swap. I've tried following these as a first step, and when I do I then get a message to say that my SIM card is already active.

Any ideas of what I can do / try to get the number swapped over?

I am currently paying for two contracts, as I couldn't cancel the one for the stolen phone (which needed upgrading) so I need to switch the number soon so I can cancel the first.
