Hello fellow O2 users!

Due to Covid19, a short trip to my homeland Greece is extended until end of September. In total I am going to stay 68 days. I found on a forum that there is a 63 days limit (roaming fair usage policy) in a 4 month period.

My question is, if I turn off my mobile data for 5 days, I should be within my allowance and shouldn't get charged extra right? As long as I keep within the 63 days? Or do I need to turn off my phone completely? Any advice?

Thank you so much in advance!

Anastasia

Turn your phone off completely for 5 days. If it's unlocked you could buy a local PAYG sim and use that for a few days.

I thought so 😕 Somehow I think it would be cheaper to get charged extra from O2 than to buy a whole new sim though. I read that for 1 GB of data it is £3.60 extra. Any PAYG sim would cost at least 5 euros, plus the extras.

Thank you though!!!

But this policy talks about surcharges https://www.o2.co.uk/roamfairuse#:~:text=Our%20Roaming%20Fair%20Usage%20Policy,like%20you%20do%20at%...

They never mention cutting you off, how do you know this?

That must be a new policy.

I know (knew) they cut you off  due to spending a few years on here and reading posts from others it's happened to.

Happened a lot during Covid when people have flown abroad to go home and have exceeded the fair usage policy terms.

Maybe the policy was changed due to the pandemic?
