Hi, it's a long time since I've been here, I can't even remember my user name! I have a quick (I hope!) question - I know O2 cap roaming speeds in the USA but does that apply if you pay the £6 a day as well? I couldn't work out whether you get faster speeds by paying extra than if it's included in the tariff and 'free'.
Thank you!

No different.
It's all capped at 0.5mbps (when working).
Currently there is an issue with no data working at all in USA.

Thanks for your help. I was hoping it might be different if they're getting an extra £6 a day! I've thought about getting a 3 Sim but prefer not to have another number while I'm away. Oh well, a bit more thinking to do!

@Tracey75 3 charge for roaming as well, so you'd be no better off. If you need data with any speed at all you'll need to get a Pay & Go sim from T-Mobile or AT&T when you arrive. If you don't want to do that, there's plenty of free WiFi hotspots most everywhere, but you should use a VPN if you're planning to do that.

I don't mind paying for data if it actually works! I plan to use Wifi wherever possible but I need to be easily contactable and might need data in the event we get lost, which has been known!
