Removed Mast

Anonymous

Why is it so difficult to find out why a particular Mast has been removed. #36606 in Ansdell/Fairhaven has been removed and as a result O2 reception in this area have deteriorated.

Even the O2 shop in St Anne's are not being told anything by O2 although they are aware of the problem!!

Coverage checker is useless as it assumes the mast is still there.

Hi

Have you tried Customer services on 202 contract or 4445 Payg for an answer.

May be @Toby or @Anonymous who are o2 site management can ask for you.

You might have some luck if you talk to your local council planning dept. as they will know if any planning applications have been submitted for mast replacement anywhere in the area.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

Do you know where the mast was located? Was it on private land?

If it was on private land there could be any number of reasons....

if public maybmaybe a planning application for another structure has been approved in which case planning approval for a new site has to be sought.

Whatever the reason, it's not very good PR for O2 to just remove a mast without informing customers or its own local store, leaving the OP, and probably many others without any service.
