I've had the exact same problem, can't email, can't go online to cancel, no online chat, tried emailing. Called more than once been cut off twice and had to go give up other times because of the excessive wait. I've been charged for a phone contract when i changed the contract to another provider, contacted O2 and destroyed the sim card months ago. I've now had to cancel my direct debit because of how much it's costing and I'm currently 14minutes into a queue for the second time today.

Why didn't you get a PAC or STAC code and use that @Craig20 ?
They are the best way to cancel - either keeping or changing your number...
