@Anno78 I know the network either can't or won't do anything, but you should block/report ALL spam calls/texts.

The spammers spoof legitimate numbers owned by people ( they have used mine) to get round spam blockers.

Got one yesterday, again on Vodafone not O2.

Daughter gets them from time to time on her EE business phone.

A nuisance, but nothing we puny mortals can do.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

I do this every time, but they keep coming. I've already got huge long list of blocked numbers, and I'm also using AVG call blocker. These spammers are just changing numbers each time.

Get them all the time and annoyingly they hang up as soon as you answer in many instances

It's just a fact of life....there will always be scam calls and will always be scam calls in greater numbers as soon as a new topical scam becomes flavour of the month

When you are being called from a randomly-generated phone number by a scammer, you risk blocking a genuine caller - I would report it to 7726 (free in UK) but not block the number, @Anno78

How to report a text message
  1. Select the messageyou want to report.

  2. Forward the messageto the number 7726.

  3. Your mobile providerwill investigate the message and can block or ban the sender if it's found to be malicious.

How to report a scam call
  1. Text the word'Call' followed by the scam caller's number to 7726.

  2. Your providerwill then be able to find out where the call came from and take action to block or ban the number.

Why use 7726?
  • It's freeand helps your mobile provider.

  • It alerts your providerto investigate and act on nuisance messages or calls.

  • It helps protect othersby allowing regulators to track down who is making the scam calls.
