Hi there,

I have requested to change to another providers sim using the same number given to me by O2 as its a cheaper option but I still have a device plan running until 2nd March 2026. Would I be charged for doing so and how much would it be if yes?

I was unaware of being charged for changing my sim, I would still pay off the device plan until it has stopped but wanted to be certain about the information

Thanks

You would have to pay the device plan off in full before changing network

You can't continue a monthly device plan without the airtime

Do you know if I just cancelled the other network contract then that'll cancel my switch from O2?

I did however I have 14 days to cancel the contract with them and send the sim back out if I change my mind. Is it too late now?

Cancelling the new contract won't cancel the switch

If they now have your phone number your O2 account will have been cancelled and you will be billed for the remaining months of the device plan and the airtime

Have you checked My O2 to see if your contract is still active?

If it is then call the other network to cancel the porting of your number

You'll need to call the other network and cancel the port in process @marcsnu

Your O2 contract will then not be effected and will continue as normal.
