Hi there,

I have requested to change to another providers sim using the same number given to me by O2 as its a cheaper option but I still have a device plan running until 2nd March 2026. Would I be charged for doing so and how much would it be if yes?

I was unaware of being charged for changing my sim, I would still pay off the device plan until it has stopped but wanted to be certain about the information

Thanks

I appreciate the help but turns out I never actually did give my PAC number to them as the new sim has a new number on the packaging so surely if I just cancel the contract with the other network then I'm all good?

Yes if you haven't given them the PAC

Just because it shows a new number doesn't mean  there is no porting request

All new contracts are issued with a new number which is then replaced with your number when the port is actioned

Call them straight away to cancel the process and end the new contract
