I have just received a text from O2 advising me that I have been charged for a premium rate number. At first I panicked about this thinking someone was using my account, I had not called a premium rate number to my knowledge. However upon investigation it is clear this was an 0845 number which I believed to be standard rate. They aren't, they are charged at 55p per minute according to the O2 premium rate information. Why can you not choose to block these numbers as they very easily catch you out. Apparently O2 cannot stop premium rate numbers from being called. I always thought premium rate numbers started 09, so you have to be careful what numbers you call. I wondered how many others have been caught out by this.
