I tend to do alot of walking in remote places, which means sometimes im out of range of cell towers so have no signal. Thats ok the phone is meant to reconnect as soon as im back in range

I often find tho that it doesnt, and will say no service even when back in a coverage area. The only way to force it back onto the network is to put in airplane mode and back out again, which refreshes the connection

I dont think its a phone issue as my previous 2 phones (both Android so maybe its and Android bug?) did this. Currently on S22

It doesnt always do it. Losing signal when say going into a tunnel on a train will get the signal back once im out of the tunnel. But if im out of range for any significant time it wont auto reconnect without me going into airplane mode

Its a simple fix but interested to know why it does it

A better place to look would be Google than here on the Forum, @paulbacon -

https://helpdeskgeek.com/help-desk/android-cellular-data-not-working-8-ways-to-fix/

(as an example).

Have experienced the same thing when coming back onto a roaming network from a UK one, not so sure I see it on normal travel though.

Good luck!

@paulbacon

Its a known issue on all mobile phones and across all networks, where the phone refuses to connect back automatically back onto the network.

The only way I have found to do it, is to use Airplane Mode on and then off.

Unfortunately not much more you can do about it..
