Pay and go charging twice for text message

When I send a text message on my O2 pay and go sim I get a message saying that my balance amount has gone down by 12p and then another straight after saying it has gone down another 12p. 24p per text message seems very expensive to me. 
Has anyone else had this problem?

No and I would strongly suggest you contact Customer Services to sort this out.

 

Not 'Live Chat'

 

Plus many tariffs now offer an unlimited text bundle.

 

You may want to consider this.

 

I dont come across many people who now pay for each text message sent.

I only pay if its a number from other networks but 99% of people I know are on O2 so doesn't cost me a thing

Are you sure you are only sending messages below 160 characters? Anything above will go as 2 messages.

It does indeed sound like it's going as 2 text messages....
